It’s Science Fair Time!

A science fair project can be a fun, fascinating and challenging experience. The Science & Technology Division has a tool that can help you with the process. The Science Fair Project Index has been created by our librarians to guide you to experiments described in more than 1000 books covering all fields of science. If you have no idea what kind of project you want to do but have a field of interest such as plants, sports, forensics, electronics, microscopes, astronomy, animals, and more you can search the Index for project ideas. If you have a specific idea, but are unsure how to design an effective project to demonstrate or test it, the Index can help with that also.  You can search by pre-assigned subject headings or by keywords. The Index will direct you to specific books in which the projects are described in detail, including lists of materials and equipment needed and instructions on how to set up and perform the experiment.

Don’t forget that once you have your project idea we can also help with your background research using books, encyclopedias, magazines, and databases.
